About Mont-Mégantic
Mont-Mégantic became the world's first International Dark Sky Reserve in 2007, anchored by the ASTROLab interpretation centre and the 1.6-metre Mont-Mégantic Observatory at the summit — one of the largest research telescopes in eastern North America accessible to the public through guided evenings.
What you can see in the sky
Deep-sky objects through the summit telescope, plus a naked-eye Milky Way rarely seen this close to Montreal and Quebec City.
Best time of year
Year-round with reservations — ASTROLab runs evening programs on a seasonal schedule, so check hours before visiting; late summer and autumn skip the deep winter cold.
