Site

Antelope Island floats in the middle of the Great Salt Lake, connected to the mainland by a causeway, and its open, treeless terrain gives a 360-degree horizon rare so close to a major metro area. It was Utah's first Bronze-tier International Dark Sky Park, just a short drive from Salt Lake City.

Drive from Toronto: About 40 minutes north-west of Salt Lake City via I-15 and the Antelope Island Causeway (Syracuse exit).

Best time of year: Year-round; the park runs scheduled dark-sky and astronomy events — check the Utah State Parks dark sky events calendar.
