Site

Prince Albert National Park sits at the transition between Saskatchewan's prairie and boreal forest, and its lakes — including the one Grey Owl made famous — give wide, unobstructed views straight up. Waskesiu Lake townsite has services, but step just outside it and the sky opens right up.

Drive from Toronto: Fly into Saskatoon, then drive about 2.5 hours north on Highway 2/263.

Best time of year: Late August through September for dry, clear nights before the first snow, or February for crisp, high-contrast winter skies.
