Site

Riding Mountain National Park rises out of the Manitoba prairie as a forested plateau, and its remoteness from any major city keeps the night sky genuinely dark. The park's open meadows and lakeshores around Wasagaming give a clean view once you're away from the townsite's lights.

Drive from Toronto: ≈ 24 hours by road via the Trans-Canada Highway to Winnipeg, then north on Highway 10 — most visitors fly into Winnipeg and drive about 3 hours.

Best time of year: September, when the aspen parkland cools down, insects fade, and clear high-pressure nights are common before winter sets in.
