Site

Salinas Pueblo Missions preserves three separate 17th-century mission and pueblo sites scattered across the high plains of central New Mexico. Each unit — Abó, Quarai and Gran Quivira — sits far from any city, and the park runs seasonal evening dark-sky programs at the Abó unit.

Drive from Toronto: The three units surround Mountainair, New Mexico, off Highways 60 and 55, about an hour south-east of Albuquerque.

Best time of year: May through October, when the park runs scheduled Dark Sky Programs at the Abó unit — check the current-year schedule.
