Terra Nova National Park, on Newfoundland's east coast, was designated a RASC Dark-Sky Preserve in February 2018. It's Newfoundland's most accessible national park and the boreal-forest-meets-fjord landscape keeps light pollution genuinely minimal along the whole Trans-Canada corridor here.

Drive from Toronto: Fly into St. John's or Gander, then drive roughly 1–2 hours on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Best time of year: September and October, once summer fog banks clear and before winter storms set in — clear, cold nights give the best transparency.
